In accordance with European regulation (EC) no. 261/2004 as a part of previous regulations, de-lays of more than three hours, cancellation and denied boarding give right to monetary compensa-tion to passengers, depending on flight distance, the amount is paid by the airline.
Keeping in mind, the same law excludes compensation in cases of "extraordinary circumstances", such as bad weather, strikes, terrorist attacks, security issues, decisions by air traffic control and other situations unclear which entitle airlines to reject many requests for compensation and requir-ing thorough expertise (made by us) to be contested.
All flights within the European Community are subject to this law. Flights operated by airlines with bases in the European Union are subject to the law as long as you use a European airport, and companies outside the European Union are subject to the same legislation only if the flight is de-parting from a European airport.
Children and babies are entitled to compensation if they have the right to their own seat (usually babies are not). Passengers with free tickets or those who enjoy special prices that are not avail-able publicly, are not applicable to this law, but the tickets issued under common flight programs are included.
Passengers are entitled to full payment of the expenses occurring in the process, such as hotel accommodation, transport to the hotel, meals and beverages. You must always keep receipts and bills in such circumstances, if the airline did not provide such facilities.
